About Indonesian Business Centre
Indonesian Business Centre (IBC), now in its 11th year, synergises business network among Indonesian businessmen, their Singaporean counterparts and expats residing in both Singapore and Indonesia respectively. The membership of IBC, currently stands at 3000, comprises primarily eminent businessmen, entrepreneurs and professionals. 20% of the memberships are also those from diversed background and ationalities. Representatives of various business associations and counselors (economic & trade sections) of various high commissions who have business relationship with Indonesia are also represented.
Program organised by IBC include the IBC Business Forums, the IBC Business Lunches and business / cultural trips to Indonesia as well as the reigon. All these events enable our members to network. Furthermore, members also appreciate the IBC bi-weekly e-news containing updates on business opportunities, investment news and regular networking cocktails with other business associations. In April 2006, the Singapore Island Country Club collaborated with IBC to stage an Indonesian Evening of Cuisine & Dance. The IBC Nusantara (Anniversary) Ball draw over 200 guests from both Indonesia and Singapore annually. We have regular cultural shows, the notable one being a two evening North Sumatera Cultural Show at Raffles Hotel with dinner to celebrate the 88 birthday of the former President of Singapore, Mr Wee Kim Wee in November 2002. Since then, IBC has also organised the North Sulawesi Cultural Evening in October 2003 and the West Java Cultural Evening in March 2008. In collaboration with the local organisations, IBC had participated in the South Sumatera Cultural Show and the Malay Cultural Evening respectively. Cultural visits to Jogya and Solo were completed in 2001.
Recent Business trip was a visit to Surabaya.
IBC organise walk rallies and contribute prizes to students at Sekolah Indonesia for the Essay, Poetry Reading and Drawing Competitions respectively. High teas to welcome new Indonesian businessmen who arrive in Singapore and new IBC members are held on a regular basis. Over the years IBC has been featured in various publications (Singapore and Indonesia), TV appearances and radio interviews, in addition to the 52 weekly radio program with Radio Singapore International respectively in 2006.
